From the fairy-tale of green flying to the reality of green colonialism

The aviation industry is still planning a massive future expansion, despite the climate crisis. Promises of technological solutions and offsetting programs seek to legitimise this growth. However, despite the questionable effectiveness of these greenwashing strategies, they also raise concerns over intensive use of scarce global resources and severe infringements of human rights – particularly in the Global South.
