The COP26 Coalition and Stop Climate Chaos Scotland are looking for people to volunteer during and in the run up to COP26. There are a number of roles and shifts available so that anyone interested can get involved. We will provide you with training and support so that you can fulfill your role with confidence. Volunteer on the run-up to COP26
Join our team on the run-up to COP26! Some of our teams are looking for volunteers to support them over the next month and a half. If you’d like to share your skills and work alongside us to make the Global Day of Action and People’s Summit a reality, please get in touch with the coordinator of each team (contacts below).
We will update this space with new opportunities soon! Here is a list of the roles we are currently recruiting for:
1x Outreach support (1-2 days/week, flexible in amount of time required) – anywhere across the UK, including Glasgow
Supporting local and regional networking and engagement for mobilisations and local hubs. For this Mobilisation role, please email Tess: [email protected]
2 x Translation Assistant (6h/week) – starting September
Working with Logistics team to coordinate with translators and find more volunteer translators
1 x Accessibility and BSL Lead (4h/week) – starting September
Working with Logistics team to collate accessibility and look at ways to make our spaces more accessible throughout the COP. Also working with team to organise BSL translators throughout the events.

2x Technical Assistants (3h/week) – remotely now, Glasgow during People’s Summit
Initially developing skills in pre-production, liaising with Technical Coordinator on a range of computer-based tasks such as checking lists of tech requirements, filling out spreadsheets and drawing up stage plots. This role will provide familiarity with technical aspects of People’s Summit and Global Day of Action Rally and progress into more hands-on assistance during events throughout the People’s Summit. Great development opportunity for someone looking to learn more about the technical side of producing events. More hours will be needed during the People’s Summit.

Volunteering over COP26
For Volunteering over COP26 Apply Here! If you have missed our first round of induction, don’t worry, we will have a second round in early October. If you have applied for volunteering with us you will get an email once we have confirmed the dates – so keep an eye out!

There will be plenty of breaks and some fun zoom activities throughout!
Everyone who has completed the induction will be able to sign up for shifts (we will be holding role-specific training in October) and complete their registration. Shifts are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis so please try to join an induction as early as possible!
